DAISO Japan
DAISO operates in Japan 2500 shops, offering its clients 90.000 different products. The shops were developed on surfaces between 100 and 10.000 sqm. 90% of the products sold within DAISO shops are trademark items, manufactured at the highest quality standards, addressing all family members, from children to the most experienced. DAISO has an average of 1.6 million clients daily and 600 million clients per year. http://www.daiso-sangyo.co.jp/english DAISO - Milestones • 1972 – Yano Shoten had the initiative to found a company focused on distribution and commercial activity; • 1987 – The first large surface warehouse and logistic center is operated; • 1991 – The first shops with unique selling price are launched in Japan; • 2001 – DAISO expands its shop network at international level first units in Taiwan and Korea; • 2002-2005 – The group expands worldwide, by opening new shops in Singapore, Canada, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Indonesia, USA, Oman, Bahrain and Macao; • 2007 – DAISO enters the European market, by launching its first shop with unique selling price in Romania. Global development DAISO Group entered the international market in 2001. Now the company operates over 470 shops, in 20 countries. Media Recognition DAISO Group is recognized both for its fast development and for the high level of satisfaction offered to its clients during the shopping process, being highly appreciated not only by the Japanese mass-media, but also by international business reviews. • National Retail Federation (SUA), January 2005 – National Retail Federation, one of the most important business ranking organisations in USA, placed DAISO in Top 10 Companies, at the section „The biggest growth rate in the retail industry worldwide”; • Nikkei (Japan), 2006 - DAISO Group was awarded with the distinction “Great Corporate Enterprise of 21st Century” and Hirotake Yano, the current President of Daiso Group, was awarded as “The Manager of the Year”. The gradual expansion of the shop network in all medium and big towns, will increase the products' availability, the most important way to promote DAISO values. The shops will have a net selling area ranging between 500 and 1.000 sqm, being located in the most important commercial centers or retail parks throughout the country.
